Our Team
Morgan Mead: CEO and Math Tutor
My name is Morgan Kelly Mead and I have been tutoring students since I was 12 years old. I have never wanted to do anything other than math. Through my insatiable appetite for math, I found myself not only learning math, but also teaching it to others. It started with a few questions from fellow students and in no time I found myself starting to actually schedule people for tutoring.
Through tutoring, I saw students begin to achieve the “a-ha” moment; and seeing the joy that followed, I knew I wanted to see many more of those moments. The “a-ha” moment made me want to continuously strive to expand my math arsenal every chance I could, so that I may tutor others and allow them to feel the same. I joined the math team at Vero Beach High School and threw myself into learning more about math every day of my life while also tutoring every chance I had. When I started college at NC State, math was endless and I loved every second of it. The one thing that was missing was (you guessed it) more math! I reached out to those around me and started offering my math tutoring services. Through word of mouth, tutoring has become an opportunity that I gladly get to take advantage of almost every day.
I hope I get the opportunity to give your student tutoring for all of their math needs. I look forward to being your tutor for mathematics, and I cannot wait to help you or your child achieve the awesome “a-ha” moment. I look forward to being your guide through math’s limitless potential.
Melannie Stewart: English Tutor
My name is Melannie Stewart and I have joined Morgan’s team as an English and Writing tutor.
My whole life has revolved around tutoring and teaching, and I wouldn’t change it if I had the chance! I received my Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in English and became a certified 6-12 teacher. Now, I am in graduate school working on my Master’s in English with a concentration in Literature and I am also a TA and instructor for a college writing course. I also have experience teaching English as a second language and I am TESOL certified.
My favorite hobby has been reading ever since I learned how to, and while I know this isn’t always the case with my students, I like to inspire students to find some aspect, big or small, about reading or writing that they can enjoy and excel at. I love learning from my students as well and continue figuring out different ways that students like to learn. It is always my goal to figure out what “works” and what doesn’t. I’m looking forward to helping with any kinds of reading or writing problems that come my way!
